General Information
Say "I do" to Iberostar Cozumel. Because of the natural beauty of its surroundings, it's the perfect place to pledge your love. The decor, the beach, the food, all make it the ideal place to get married. A wedding coordinator will take care of everything from the bride's bouquet and the groom's boutonniere, to the cake, and even reservations to an a la carte restaurant. Congratulations!

Documents
Requirements for a Civil Wedding at the Hotel
Passport Bride and Groom must have valid passports.

Tourist Cards which every foreigner obtains on the flight down to Mexico.

Birth Certificates translated into Spanish by an official translator and attached with an "Apostille".
"Apostille" is a form of certification that it's required by the Mexican Authorities in order to make your papers legal in Mexico.

If you are American, please contact the Secretary of State where you where born   • You should send your birth certificates to the Secretary of State and enclose a letter stating that you are getting married in Mexico and that you need and Apostille   • They will then return the documents to you.

If you are European, please contact the office of Foreign Affairs of your country.

If you are Canadian, please contact the nearest Mexican embassy or consulate in order to legalize your Birth Certificate and translation.

The judge usually keeps the birth certificates, therefore we recommend you to bring certified copies rather than originals.

Divorce Decree or Certificate
in case you are divorced.
It has to be translated into Spanish and legalized with an Apostille   • It is very important to bring this document in case the bride's last name in her passport and Birth Certificate are different.

Witnesses
You will need 4 witnesses with their picture ID and a copy of their Tourist card for your wedding   • They need to be here at the latest four working days prior to the wedding   • In case you do not bring any witnesses, the hotel will be happy to provide them without any extra charge.

Blood Test to determine blood type, HIV, RH Factor and Venereal deceases) -it has to be made at the hotel in Mexico, cost: US$ 100.00 per couple (to be paid in cash at the moment of the test directly to the doctor).

Policies

Due to the high amount of weddings that we have we kindly ask you to request the wedding date as soon as possible. We have a policy of having only one wedding per day to ensure that it is your special day. If you would like to reserve a date, we require a written request with the couples complete names, the type of ceremony, and approximate number of guests. The Wedding will be charged the room account and will be settled during your stay, before the wedding day. The hotel accepts credit cards (Master Card, Visa & American Express), travelers checks and cash.
