Please note: A Civil wedding in Mexico is recognized internationally however, before coming to Mexico, check with your State or Province on how to register your Mexican Wedding. Each State and County has different requirements and it is your responsibility to verify what you need to register your license in your country. Let us know if you will need a translated copy of your marriage license, since your license will be in Spanish. We can have it translated by our certified translator for a charge.
Saturday weddings: Due to the civil office being closed on Saturdays, your license will be dated the previous business day (Friday or if it is a holiday, the day before).

Wedding documents needed by Occidental Allegro Cozumel hotel:

VALID PASSPORTS and Birth Certificates (Although passports are not required for US Citizens for entry into Mexico, They are Mandatory for Weddings).
You must bring Birth Certificates with a special Apostille Seal.
All officials documents issued in English or French must be accompanied By an official translation into Spanish. (The translation has to be done in Cozumel Translation Offices; the cost per sheet is $ 25 USD)
Tourist cards (Blue sheets that you received at the airport). IMPORTANT: Make sure that the names; last names and signatures that you put in the tourist card are the same ones as the ID that you will show to the Judge to get married (passport or the birth certificate)
Health Certificate (Medical Check-up), Blood Test of HIV and VDRL (Must be done at the hotel, cost $ 50 USD per person).
If divorced, you need copies of these documents (At least, the first two sheets must be translated into Spanish by a registered translator; it has to be done here in Cozumel, the cost is $ 25 USD per sheet).
Marriage Form. This will be given upon arrival in the resort and you need to fill it out with information about the bride, groom, their parents and 4 witnesses (If you want our employees can be witnesses, the cost is $ 25 USD per person and must be paid in cash)
Witnesses: Passport, Birth Certificates and Tourist Cards of the 4 witnesses (If the witnesses do not have passports, they can show a picture ID (Driver License) make sure the Tourist Card have the same names, last names and signatures as the passports or Birth Certificates.
The only thing we need to do beforehand is schedule the wedding date with the judge 1 month prior. We always ask our guests to come 3 days prior to the wedding for the final details (Translations documents, medical test Etc) So we can take all the required documents to the judge and make all the arrangements.
THE WEDDING WILL NOT BE CARRIED OUT IF YOU ARE MISSING ONE OF THE REQUIREMENTS ABOVE MENTIONED
