General Information
The beauty of our oceanfront and marina setting is a wedding dream come true. Taking your vows beneath our beautiful wedding gazebo or elsewhere in this magical setting is what sheer romance is made of. And because your special day simply must be perfect, you will appreciate the consummate skills of our professional wedding coordinators whose services are available at no additional charge. They are experts at planning, catering, decoration, transportation and all other aspects down to the smallest detail.

Documents

The following list of legal requirements are needed only for legal marriage. The Dreams Puerto Aventuras Wedding Coordinator must receive the following documents to begin the application for marriage in the Civil Registry Office.

   • Bride, Groom & Witnesses must arrive in Cancun 4 business days prior to the wedding day (Saturdays, Sundays & Holidays do not count)
   • Tourist Card (Receive these upon arrival at Cancun International Airport)
   • If Bride or Groom are divorced, they will need their original Birth Certificates and Final Divorce Decrees. These documents must be translated into Spanish and each must have a stamp (Le Apostille) of the Registry of their country. Translation services cost is $45.00 USD plus a 10% tax per certificate. Translation must be done in Mexico or by a certified translator at the Mexican embassy of the couple's country, otherwise will not be valid.
   • Valid Passports
   • Bride and Groom's birth certificates
   • $175 USD fee for blood test must be taken in Mexico. To be considered valid, the test should not be taken more than 14 days prior to the ceremony. The blood will be tested for HIV, STD's (sexually transmitted diseases) and blood type. The results will be ready in 24 hours together with a certificate of the blood test and the fee will be paid directly to the doctor in cash the day the test is taken.
   • Judge's transportation fee. Round trip from the city is $50 USD and must be paid to the Judge on the wedding date.
   • The names, addresses, nationalities, ages, occupation, relationship, copy of a tourist card and a valid identification of the 4 witnesses. Wedding Coordinator will send you the legal form. The witnesses
can be relatives, friends or anyone with a valid passport.
   • The Marriage Certificate is only valid in Mexico. To make the Marriage Certificate legal internationally, the Wedding Coordinator will send a copy of your License to the Validation Process. The fee will be $100 USD. The process will take up to 2-4 months. Once the document is apostilled, the resort will send all documentation to couples home address.

Ceremony

Gazebo Ceremonies
The Gazebo is the preferred wedding location. All wedding packages include the basic set-up of chairs and tables. The Gazebo decoration
is included in the Dreams Ultimate Wedding Package.
In the case of inclement weather, the Ballroom may be used. Forecast will be reviewed 4 hours prior to ceremony.
Additional Information for Ceremony

   • The Religious Ceremony is not legally valid; it is a symbolic ceremony.
   • It is not necessary to complete the legal requirements for religious and non denominational ceremonies.
   • For non-legal ceremonies, you may bring your own minister. A Mexican Judge must perform the legal ceremony. It will be performed in Spanish and translated into English. When it is a legal ceremony a Mexican judge must perform the ceremony in Spanish and will be translated in English.
   • The ceremony is the most important event, for that reason you feel free to add special moments along ceremony, it means that if you would like to have a reading, poem, singer, pray or anything just let the coordinator know.
   • Guests may bring their own choice of music.
   • Dreams Puerto Aventuras performs no more than 2 weddings per day in different locations and at different times. The times are subject to availability.
   • The forecast will be reviewed 4 hours prior to ceremony.
   • Guests may bring their own photographer/videographer however, they must be non-Mexican photographer and must be guests at the resort. Please let the Wedding Coordinator know.

Reception

Dinner Policies
Dreams Puerto Aventuras has various locations throughout the resort perfect for celebrating the reception. There are outdoor locations that include the beach, terraces or indoor, air-conditioned banquet venues.
The Dreams of Love and Ultimate Wedding Package includes dinner in our Banquet Room or at an outdoor location with no additional fee.
The Silver and Gold Dinner Menus will be served at any beach or indoor location, with the exception of the restaurants.
Group Dinner
   • More than 8 guests will be considered a group with dinners in any of the a la carte restaurants. A maximum of 20 guests will be allowed in the restaurants. The World Cafe or Banquet Rooms can be made into private reception dinners. Dinners will begin promptly at 6:30 pm.
   • If you choose to have a dinner at an a la carte restaurant, the group must be between 9-20 guests. A set up and service feel will apply which is $18 USD per person plus 10% tax and 15% service fee. The hosts of the dinner will select various items for a set menu.
   • El Patio and Seaside Grill are available for private wedding receptions but are subject to availability. The restaurants can be rented for a fee of $750 USD.
   • The only option for indoor dinner is the ballroom for 9 to 70 people.
   • All events are will end at 10:30 pm. After this time, an additional charge of $17 USD per person for the first hour and $13 USD per person for the second hour

The Dreams of Love Wedding Package include the Silver Dinner Menu for up to 20 guests. For each additional person there will be a $45 USD (including food and beverage for the wedding night). Buffet-style is served for a minimum of 40 people. The buffet menu choices will be an appetizer, a salad, three main courses and three desserts. To upgrade to the Gold Dinner Menu, each additional person will incur a $10 USD fee.

Shipping Procedures

Dreams Puerto Aventuras highly recommends that all additional decorations and/or favors be brought with the couple on the plane. If it is necessary to ship boxes prior to the couples arrival, we suggest using either FEDEX or UPS and shipping everything a month and a half in advance to ensure all boxes clear customs and arrive to the resort in time.

   • Please be advised that food, animals, insects or natural flowers are not permitted to enter Mexico.
   • Label all boxes with your name and clearly specify the date you will be arriving.

Dreams Puerto Aventuras will deliver gifts to the guest's rooms. There will be a fee of $2.00 USD per room. A complete list of all guests along with room numbers are required.

Once the boxes have been shipped, please send an e-mail to the wedding coordinator with the following information to allow us to track the packages:

   • Bride's name    • Company used & tracking number
   • Shipping company    • Number of boxes

Policy on Damages and Losses:
The property does not assume responsibility for any items, personal or professional, brought onto the resort prior to, during or after the wedding event. These include, but are not limited to, floral arrangements, decorations or equipment. The wedding couple is responsible for all non resort guests while they are on property attending the event.

Policies

Deposit Policy
A deposit is required to confirm and hold the requested wedding date. Deposit requirements vary based on wedding package purchased. Deposit of $100.00 is required to reserve the Wedding in Paradise Package; a deposit of $500.00 is required to reserve the Love or Ultimate Wedding Package. This deposit can then be applied toward ceremony and/or reception upgrades which have been purchased in addition to the wedding package.

If the wedding couple chooses not to purchase additional ceremony and/or reception amenities, the credit can then be applied toward any room charges upon check out, including but not limited to phone charges, spa treatments and logo shop purchases. Any remaining credit balance will be refunded in the form of the original payment.

Cancellation Policy:
The wedding can be canceled six or more months prior to the confirmed date without penalties. If the wedding is canceled within six months, the non-refundable deposit will be kept as a penalty. If the wedding is canceled, but the couple still travels as planned, the deposit can then be applied toward any additional room charges made during their stay.

Payment Options
The entire payment must be paid in full two days prior to the wedding, after the first meeting with the wedding coordinator. The final wedding payment must be paid with cash, traveler checks or credit card.
   • Payments with traveler's checks (American Express) require a passport.
   • The following credit cards will be accepted: Visa, Mastercard or American Express.
   • Personal checks will not be accepted as a form of payment.
