General Information
What could be more magical than getting married in our beautiful traditional chapel? Or on our pure white beach. Other gorgeous resort locations are available as well. And because your special day simply must be perfect, you will appreciate the consummate skills of our professional wedding coordinators whose services are available at no additional charge. They are experts at planning, catering, decoration, transportation and all other aspects down to the smallest detail.

Wedding chapel is the only chapel sanctioned by Catholic Church in the region.

Additional Information for Ceremony
   • Religious ceremony is not legally valid , this is just symbolic ceremony.
   • For religious or non denominational wedding it is not necesary complete the legal requirements (blood test , translations , witnesses, etc..)
   • For Catholic ceremonias you must Visit your Pastor, your Parish Priest and do all the paperwork required there. The couple must do the pre-marriage courses in their country and then ask for a letter (Nihil Obstat) from his Curia, where the Parish Priest give his approval to the Priest here in order to celebrate the marriage.
   • If you would like to bring your own minister , it is fine there is not problem for non legal ceremonies
   • When is a legal ceremony the judge must perform ceremony
   • The ceremony is the most important event , for that reason you feel free to add special moments along ceremony , it means that if you would like to have a reading ,poem , singer, pray or anything just let the coordinator know.
   • You also have the choice to bring your own music , if there is any specific song that you would like to play or any of your guests will play something for you , it is posible . Just you would required to rent a sound system for have music during ceremony.
   • The hotel perform on average 2 or 3 weddings per day and the times are subject to availability
   • For all outdoors events the forecast must be reviewed 4 hours in advance on the wedding day.
   • In case you have decided bring you own photographer or videographer with you , let the coordinator know , because there is an extra fee for local photographers.
   • We suggest you contact the in house photographer to see samples of their work.

Documents

The following list of legal requirements are needed only for legal marriage. The Dreams Puerto Aventuras Wedding Coordinator must receive the following documents to begin the application for marriage in the Civil Registry Office.

   • Bride, Groom & Witnesses must arrive in Cancun 4 business days prior to the wedding day (Saturdays, Sundays & Holidays do not count)
   • Tourist Card (Receive these upon arrival at Cancun International Airport)
   • If Bride or Groom are divorced, they will need their original Birth Certificates and Final Divorce Decrees. These documents must be translated into Spanish and each must have a stamp (Le Apostille) of the Registry of their country. Translation services cost is $45.00 USD plus a 10% tax per certificate. Translation must be done in Mexico or by a certified translator at the Mexican embassy of the couple's country, otherwise will not be valid.
   • Valid Passports
   • Bride and Groom's birth certificates
   • $175 USD fee for blood test must be taken in Mexico. To be considered valid, the test should not be taken more than 14 days prior to the ceremony. The blood will be tested for HIV, STD's (sexually transmitted diseases) and blood type. The results will be ready in 24 hours together with a certificate of the blood test and the fee will be paid directly to the doctor in cash the day the test is taken.
   • Judge's transportation fee. Round trip from the city is $50 USD and must be paid to the Judge on the wedding date.
   • The names, addresses, nationalities, ages, occupation, relationship, copy of a tourist card and a valid identification of the 4 witnesses. Wedding Coordinator will send you the legal form. The witnesses
can be relatives, friends or anyone with a valid passport.
   • The Marriage Certificate is only valid in Mexico. To make the Marriage Certificate legal internationally, the Wedding Coordinator will send a copy of your License to the Validation Process. The fee will be $100 USD. The process will take up to 2-4 months. Once the document is apostilled, the resort will send all documentation to couples home address.

Policies

Deposit Policy
A deposit is required to confirm and hold the requested wedding date. Deposit requirements vary based on wedding package purchased. Deposit of $100.00 is required to reserve the Wedding in Paradise Package; a deposit of $500.00 is required to reserve the Love or Ultimate Wedding Package. This deposit can then be applied toward ceremony and/or reception upgrades which have been purchased in addition to the wedding package.

If the wedding couple chooses not to purchase additional ceremony and/or reception amenities, the credit can then be applied toward any room charges upon check out, including but not limited to phone charges, spa treatments and logo shop purchases. Any remaining credit balance will be refunded in the form of the original payment.

Cancellation Policy:
The wedding can be canceled six or more months prior to the confirmed date without penalties. If the wedding is canceled within six months, the non-refundable deposit will be kept as a penalty. If the wedding is canceled, but the couple still travels as planned, the deposit can then be applied toward any additional room charges made during their stay.

Payment Options
The entire payment must be paid in full two days prior to the wedding, after the first meeting with the wedding coordinator. The final wedding payment must be paid with cash, traveler checks or credit card.
   • Payments with traveler's checks (American Express) require a passport.
   • The following credit cards will be accepted: Visa, Mastercard or American Express.
   • Personal checks will not be accepted as a form of payment.
