Important information about a Religious Ceremony:
This is a Symbolic Ceremony and is not legal or valid in any country.
No documents required
Spoken in English
It is performed by a non-denominational Minister
Bride and Groom have to arrive 3 days before the wedding
The speech can be slightly modified
The wedding last 20 or 30 minutes
Depending on the wedding group size, we do only perform one or two weddings per hotel per day
In order to perform the wedding at a Riu Hotel, the 80% of the clients have to stay at the same hotel the wedding is going to be at. For example if the wedding is going to be at Riu Yucatan, the 80% of your guests need to stay at Riu Yucatan, the other 20% could stay in other Hotels and attend your wedding paying the following fees: If your are having the wedding at any Riu Palace Hotel property, guests staying at other lower category Riu Hotels have to pay approximately $ 45 USD per person for the reception dinner. In the opposite case, the fee is $ 20 USD per person for the reception dinner. If guests are staying at any other hotel, the cost for the reception dinner is around $ 65 USD per person for Riu Palace and $ 45 USD per person for the other Riu's properties. There is no extra charge for the reception dinner if all guests are staying at the same Riu Hotel.
These packages are valid from January 1 – December 31, 2007.

Wedding documents needed by Riu Playacar hotel:

Bride and Groom:
Original and copies of Valid passports (Although passports are not required for US citizens for entry into Mexico, they are mandatory for weddings)
Original and copies of Tourist visa (provided by customs upon your arrival at Cancun International Airport).
Blood test (to determine blood type, HIV and STD).
Original and certified copies of their birth certificates
In case of divorce please contact the wedding coordinator because additional documents are required.
Blood Test Requirements - It is a requirement of the Mexican government. The blood tests must be done here in Mexico 3 days before of your wedding date. The blood test is done at the resort. Fees include in the packages. The blood tests determine blood type, HIV and STD

Tourist visa (provided by customs upon your arrival at Cancun International Airport).
